Draymond Green was ejected after stomping on Domantas Sabonis, who was down on the court.
By suspending Green for Game 3 on Thursday, the NBA added excitement to this series.
The Warriors reportedly dislike Sabonis' playstyle.
The events of Game 2 have added intrigue to the Sacramento Kings-Golden State Warriors first-round series.
“The league angers the organization. "There's a sense in the organization that Sabonis is shoving people on offensive rebounds and playing with his elbows out and using the ball as a weapon on offense," ESPN's Zach Lowe said.
The Warriors have no obvious argument here. Golden State appears to be trying to rescue the series and season by obtaining an infraction on Sabonis.
Whether Sabobins was grasping Green's calf or not, Green's stepdown on him was inexcusable. A punishment was severe and deflated Game 3's anticipation, but something had to be done.
Draymond Green's return for Game 4 Sunday night is important regardless of Game 3's outcome.
