The Boston Celtics have been one of the best teams in the NBA all season, and they are among the favorites to win the title.
But no matter how the season ends, neither the Celtics nor their fans will remember Friday with much love. Boston took control of the game early on and led 37-15 after the first quarter. With 7:23 left in the second quarter,
Jaylen Brown made a layup to give the Celtics a 51-23 lead. Then, things got different. Even though the Nets won the rest of the quarter, they were still behind at halftime, 64-55
In the second half, Brooklyn kept coming back. The Nets were ahead 89-84 after three quarters. They ended up winning 115–105.
During the game, Sean Grande, who did the play-by-play for the Celtics on the radio, stressed how big of a change it was.
Because the NBA season is so long, every team will have a few games that can't be explained. Even so, this one was crazy.
Before Friday's game, the Celtics had won 10 straight games against the Nets. These games were won by Boston by an average of 14.7 points, and the most recent game was won by a huge 43 points.
Brooklyn had also lost four games in a row before Friday, with each loss being by an average of 21 points. In the past few weeks, the Celtics haven't always played well, but they had won four of their last five games before Friday.
With all of that and a 28-point lead, Boston did not deserve to lose this game. And people on Twitter were very angry with how the Celtics played.
