Over the past few weeks, it has become clear that the Carolina Panthers will pick Bryce Young, the quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
instead of Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud with the first pick in the NFL Draft in 2023. But it looks like Stroud won't be picked at No. 2 overall, which is even worse.
Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk says that it is now a long shot that the Houston Texans will pick Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick.
"In fact, Stroud is now a long shot to be the No. 2 overall pick, according to the odds. At the moment,
Alabama pass rusher Will Anderson is the favorite to go No. 2, with odds of +190 at FanDuel.
Will Levis, the quarterback for Kentucky, is next at +270. Stroud is tied with Texas Tech pass rusher Tyree Wilson at +340," Smith wrote Tuesday morning.
"That's a big change, and it shows that people in the know think the Texans don't like Stroud very much."
"and that no other team is as high on Stroud as the Texans are, so no other team will blow the Texans away with a trade offer to move up to No. 2."
We still don't know how the draft will turn out, but Stroud keeps falling down draft boards.
