Odell Beckham Jr.'s recent signing with the Baltimore Ravens has been made more interesting by a story from Michael Lombardi that came out today.
According to the story, quarterback Lamar Jackson told the team that he would only come back if both Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins were signed.
In response, Baltimore's front office told Jackson that they could only pay for one of the skilled wideouts. So, GM Eric DeCosta gave Odell a one-year contract.
Early signs suggest that Jackson will be happy with the Beckham Jr. deal. Odell told Lamar through the press at his first press conference that he would love to work with the former MVP.
"If Lamar is watching, I'd love to work with him. The goal was to come here and have the chance to play with him."
The well-known wide receiver didn't show up to the Arizona Cardinals' informal workouts. All the signs point to an impending move out of Arizona, but there haven't been many trade reports that are true.
For the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Hopkins is due just over $34 million.
