In his first game since Feb. 13, Wiggins came off the bench.
In his first game back after two months away to deal with a family problem, Andrew Wiggins exhibited little rust.
After starting 657 NBA games, Wiggins had an immediate impact for the Warriors off the bench. He returned to block his first shot after it was blocked.
In 28 minutes, Wiggins had 17 points, three rebounds, one assist, and four blocks. He was 1-for-8 from deep, including a late corner 3 for the lead. Sacramento Kings win series opener 126-123.
Steve Kerr commented, "Wiggs was great." “Great to have him back... Amazing first half. Second half he wore down but that was expected.”
The Warriors supported Wiggins during his long absence and are eager to welcome him back as a critical postseason piece.
In the playoffs, Wiggins averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and a critical defensive role for Golden State.
He inked a four-year contract extension in October to become a long-term Warriors player but played only 37 games. He missed three games with left foot pain, 10 with a right thigh adductor strain, seven with a non-COVID illness, and 25 for a family problem.
17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in the regular season.
