After country artist Morgan Wallen cancelled a show in Oxford on Sunday with almost 60,000 people already seated in Vaught Hemingway Stadium at Ole Miss, country music fans all around Mississippi are outraged on Monday and are venting on social media.
Following Wallen’s sold-out stadium performance on Saturday night, it was to be the second performance in Oxford. On Sunday, however, it was reported that Wallen would not be performing due to voice problems after two opening artists had already taken the stage.
Unfortunately, Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight, according to a notice that appeared on a screen at the stadium. “As a result, tonight’s performance has been canceled. I ask that you proceed cautiously to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonight’s performance can be obtained starting at the time of purchase.
Ben Philley, a lawyer in Ridgeland, issued a warning against it on Facebook on Sunday night.

He was seen on camera cursing and using a racial epithet in 2021 in front of a house in Nashville, Tennessee. He offered an apology at the time, but his label put him on indefinite leave, and streaming platforms and radio stations removed his music.
Additionally, Kid Rock’s bar once kicked out the 29-year-old singer.
In a statement issued later that evening, Wallen claimed that he had lost his voice as soon as Saturday’s performance.
“I tried to get well on Sunday by sleeping, talking to my doctor, and working through my vocal exercises. It pains me to deliver this so close to showtime since I genuinely believed I’d be able to take the stage, but my voice is damaged and I can’t sing.
