In a message from the actor's family this week, his daughter said that he was recovering from a "medical complication."
Jamie Foxx is feeling better. A source told PEOPLE on Friday that the 55-year-old star from "Day Shift" is getting better all the time.
His daughter, Corinne Foxx, told fans about his health situation for the first time on Wednesday. She said that on Tuesday, he had "a medical complication."
She didn't say anything about Foxx's health or what was wrong with him. In a statement made on behalf of the Foxx family, Corinne, 29, said,
"We wanted to let you know that my father, Jamie Foxx, had a health problem yesterday."
"Thanks to quick action and good care, he is on his way to getting better. We know how much he is loved and thank you for your prayers," the message says
"The family would like to be left alone at this time." When PEOPLE asked Foxx for a response, a representative for her didn't answer right away.
He was recently seen shooting Back in Action, which will be on Netflix. A source had told PEOPLE before that the set of Back in Action was "shut down" on Wednesday after the lead star had a health scare.
A source said that filming got back to work on Thursday with a stand-in for Foxx.
