The New York Giants want to take a big step forward next season and join the NFC's list of contenders.
This summer, Daniel Jones was re-signed to a huge deal, and Saquon Barkley will also be back.
At this point, the team has done what it needs to do to be good, but it needs to do one or two more things to move forward.
Dan Schneier, a sports editor for CBS, said that the Giants could try to get a star safety by making a big move. Budda Baker is the star safety. He recently asked the Arizona Cardinals to move him.
Schneier does say that it would be "tricky" to get something done. But I still think about it. The star safety would be a great fit for New York.
Baker just had another great year for the Cardinals. He played in a total of 15 games and had 111 stops, a forced fumble, two interceptions, and seven pass defenses.
People know him as a strong tackler, a player who makes plays, and a leader. All of these are things that the Giants' defense could use.
If they can figure out how to make this deal happen, New York should try to get Baker before or during the NFL Draft.
