College sports today use the NCAA transfer portal. Saturday hit Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes hard. The portal claimed five CU players. Halfway through the day.
Colorado lost defensive backs Dylan Dixson, Keyshon Mills, Nikko Reed, running back Jayle Stacks, and tight end Austin Smith. Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported all transfers.
Dixson played two games with the 1-11 Buffaloes last season. 3 tackles. In 2022, Mills was absent.
Nikko Reed was a productive transfer. Reed played defense and special teams for the Buffaloes for two seasons. Seven tackles and one interception as a freshman. Reed added a 100-yard kick return touchdown.
He returned 19 kicks for 430 yards last season. Reed had two interceptions and 42 tackles.
Smith played seven 2022 games. The three-year-eligible sophomore tight end caught one ball for a four-yard score.
Stacks played 11 Colorado games. The Buffaloes running back scored one career touchdown last season. Career rushing yards: 118, 3.3 per attempt.
