Brock Purdy, quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, is expected to join the team as they resume their offseason program on Monday,
just over a month after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured UCL in his throwing arm.
Despite the fact that he is not anticipated to throw until June, Purdy told The Athletic on Friday that he plans to participate in the voluntary offseason program.
Purdy and quarterback Trey Lance will compete for the starting job next season, according to Shanahan, who stated in March that they plan to start "whoever gives us the best chance to win."
I know he's throwing well and looking good in Texas. So I'm quite happy for him," Purdy told the newspaper.
"And we're all excited to get back together in California and start learning the playbook and assisting one another."
We definitely want the best for one another. We keep in constant communication, texting each other. It's been fantastic."
