As trade whispers swirl, Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins seemed to make it clear that money isn't the reason why he and his team aren't getting along.
"'Hopkins doesn't want a raise,' - Nuk," Hopkins wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
His family gave him the nickname "Nuk" when he was a baby, and it seems like he referred to himself in the third person to get rid of the rumors.
Hopkins got a $54.5 million, two-year deal extension in 2020 that will last through the 2024 season.
Hopkins is currently the third-highest paid wide receiver in the NFL, with an average yearly salary of $27.275 million, behind Miami's Tyreek Hill and Las Vegas's Davante Adams.
Hopkins, who is 30, just finished a season in which he played nine games and caught 64 passes for 717 yards and three scores.
