On Sunday afternoon, when Game 1 of their first-round battle started in Memphis, the Lakers relied heavily on Anthony Davis.
Davis dominated the middle on both ends of the court in the first half, with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 2 assists in the first 18 minutes.
Davis hurt his right shoulder when he and Jaren Jackson Jr. fought over a loose ball at the end of the second quarter.
After Jackson knocked the ball away from Davis and out of bounds, the All-Star center got up holding his arm and seemed to tell the Lakers bench, "I can't move my arm."
Given Davis's history of injuries and how important he is to the Lakers' chances of going far in the playoffs, his leaving this early in the game is a big worry for the team and its fans.
He's had problems with his right shoulder before, and the hope is that this was just a stinger and that he'll be able to get back to work quickly and without too much pain as this game goes on.
